Academy members may submit nominations for election to the Missouri S&T Academy of Civil Engineers. Up to 15 new active members may be elected based on the number of nominations received.
View the membership qualifications here.
Please use the provided form below to nominate engineers you feel deserve recognition by their possible election to the Academy, and who would be diligent and consistent in their support of the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CArEE) by accepting election to the Academy. Remember to COLLECT AS MUCH INFORMATION AND DETAIL AS POSSIBLE!
Every section of the form should be well-developed with detail. Please return your nomination form to Jocelyn Bates as instructed at the end of the form as she will collect them on behalf of the secretary. Please submit your nominations by mail or email by Aug. 1.
If you have difficulty collecting details, here is one strategy to consider: contact your nominee and say something like “I’m on a committee looking for CE's to nominate for generic campus awards – no guarantees but can you send me your information in great detail including…” and list categories from the form.
View the Academy Bylaws here for reference.
The Bylaws also allow for the election of honorary members, as long as the number of living honorary members will not exceed 10% of active members. Honorary members are either: 1.) a graduate in civil engineering from a university other than the Missouri University of Science and Technology; or 2.) a Missouri S&T graduate from a program other than civil engineering, but whose career is primarily involved in civil engineering related work. If you nominate someone as an honorary member, please clearly mark the form as “honorary.”
Don’t hesitate to contact Amy Strauss, chair of the ACE Membership Committee, if you have questions.
Thank you for your efforts and participation in nominating worthy new Academy members!
