Pat McCown received his BSCE from UMR in 1974 and entered into the construction industry in 1974, working for Fluor in California. In 1977, he moved to the Kansas City area and has worked for Pritchard, JE Dunn, and Walton Construction. He received his Professional Engineer License in 1980 and his MBA from UMKC in 1983. In 1999, he founded McCownGordon Construction, the company he now directs and serves as CEO. The company offers construction management and design build delivery methods and has built projects in a broad range of segments including corporate, bio/life sciences, higher education, healthcare, mission critical and municipality. Pat has served on a variety of technical committees, including those for ASCE, GSA and AIA. He currently serves on the boards of UMB Bank N.A., Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Kansas City Area Development Council, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Kansas City Art Institute, Starlight Theatre, UMKC Conservatory’s Advisory Committee and the Leadership Committee for United Way. McCown is co-chair of the Business Council for the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, a member of the Metropolitan Arts Council and a corporate partner of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Pat and his wife, Beth, have four children and three grandchildren.
