About Stephen H. McVeigh

Stephen McVeigh received his BSCE from UMR in 1972. His entire career has been in the engineering and management aspects of oil and gas exploration and production. He retired after 32 years of service in the domestic and international upstream sector of Royal Dutch Shell Companies. From 2000-2004, Stephen served as CEO for Sakhalin Energy Investment Company in the Russian Federation. This company manages the Sakhalin 2 project and is the first offshore oil and gas development and LNG project in Russia. The Sakhalin Project was built from scratch in the harsh sub arctic environment of Sakhalin Island in the Russian Far East. Under Stephen’s leadership, the joint venture and its share holders (Shell, Mitsui and Mitsubishi) reached a positive final investment decision for a $10B grass roots integrated oil, gas and LNG development, one of the largest such projects ever attempted. Married to his wife, Janet, for 36 years, they live in Houston near their three sons.
