Michael Perry received his BSCE from UMR in 1980. He graduated from UMR on a Saturday and started with HBD the following Monday, bought a house the next month and was married the next month. Today he is President of HBD, leading one of the largest general contracting and construction management organizations in St. Louis. The company builds commercial and multi-family projects and recently won a “Project of the Year Keystone Award” from the AGC of St. Louis and was just recently nominated as General Contractor of the Year by the American Subcontractors Association. Mike currently serves as Immediate Past Chairman of AGC St. Louis and is Chairman of their Membership Committee. He is involved with the AGC Construction Careers Center, which prepares students in grades 9-12. He also serves on the advisory board for Youth Lifeline America, which helps disadvantaged inner city youth by teaching life skills. Mike is on the Board of the American Heart Association of St. Louis and coordinates their annual Heart Walks. He is a St. Louis Rotarian, RCGA Leadership Circle Member and serves on the legislative committee for the Missouri Growth Association. Mike and his wife, Tina, live in St. Louis. They have four daughters, which includes 17-year-old twins.
